Sierra Felix

My name is Sierra Felix and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate at Affinity Counseling & Wellness, PLLC.  We offer individual, group, couples and family counseling, and serve clients from a wide variety of diverse backgrounds.  While working towards full licensure, I receive regular supervision with Susannah Cecil, LCMHCS, E-RYT at Affinity Counseling & Wellness, PLLC. She can be reached at (336) 893-9705 or at susannah@affinitycsg.com.  My clinical experience includes work with individuals of all ages (children, adolescents, adults), as well as couples and groups.  I have special interest in working with young adults, men and couples.

I approach counseling with the belief that each client is the expert of their own world.  My first responsibility is to listen non-judgmentally and with empathy in order to gain a full understanding each person and their and their presenting problems.  Creating a safe space where clients feel heard and understood is essential to building a therapeutic relationship in which we can collaborate to meet clients goals.  I work from person-centered and cognitive-behavioral therapy lenses, while also drawing from a variety of evidence based therapeutic techniques including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT),  solution -focused brief therapy, mindfulness, and Acceptance and commitment Therapy (ACT).  I also offer faith-based counseling using these same approaches from a Christian perspective.
