Wendy Dixon

Hello, I’m Wendy Dixon. I am pursuing a Master of Arts in Christian Counseling, Clinical Mental Health at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and am completing my clinical training at Affinity Counseling & Wellness, PLLC under the supervision of Sierra Felix, LCMHC, and Susannah Cecil, LCMHCS, E-RYT. At Affinity Counseling & Wellness, we offer individual, group, couples, family counseling and welcome clients from various and diverse backgrounds.

I have a special interest in supporting children, adolescents, and families. I have a growing interest in working with children and enjoy incorporating developmentally appropriate, play-based interventions to help children express and process emotions and build coping skills.

My counseling approach is person-centered, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. When desired by the client, I offer an approach that can thoughtfully integrate Christian faith and spirituality into the counseling process.

My background includes years of community engagement, program development, ministry leadership, and family-focused support. Having walked alongside others through significant life challenges and transitions, I understand the importance of being met with compassion and support. I strive to provide a counseling environment where clients feel safe to share their stories, discover their strengths, and work toward lasting growth and well-being.
