My name is Amber Guy, and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate. I earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University in 2026 and  am practicing at Affinity Counseling & Wellness, PLLC under the supervision of Susannah Cecil, MEd, LCMHCS, E-RYT.  Our practice  provides individual, group, couples, and family counseling to clients from diverse backgrounds. I also offer faith-based counseling from a Christian perspective for clients who wish to incorporated their faith into the counseling process.

Before becoming a counselor, I spent more that 20 years as an educator working with children and adolescents.  During that time, I developed indivualized plans, fostered meaningful relationships, and created engaging, student-centered learning experiences.  Those experiences strengthened my belief that trust, rapport, and genuine connection are the foundation of effective counseling.

I have a special interest in working with adolescents and adults navigating life transitions, anxiety, and the effects of trauma.  My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to grow while developing practical skills to manage life’s challenges with confidence and resilience.  I primarily use a person-centered approach while integrating evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialetical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to meet each client’s unique needs. 

I consider it a privilege to walk alongside my clients as they pursue healing, growth, and lasting wellness.
